Rev. Bennett Clough
Pastor

Bennett was appointed to Clemons UMC at the 2019 North Georgia Annual Conference, which is also where he was licensed as a Local Pastor. Previously he had served at Carroll's Methodist Church (2016-2018), Carnesville Presbyterian Church (2018), and the Alley's Chapel-New Liberty United Methodist Charge (2018-2019) while licensed as a Local Pastor with the Association of Independent Methodists. As a lay person he was licensed as a Local Lay Speaker (2012) and Certified Lay Servant (2013) during membership at his home church, Suwanee UMC. He attended the Georgia Foothills Walk to Emmaus in spring 2019.

Bennett graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Truett McConnell University. He is currently finishing the Master of Business Administration there and beginning his Master of Divinity at Asbury Seminary.

His favorite verse is Matthew 6:33-34 (Common English Bible)- "Instead, desire first and foremost God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, stop worrying about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

One of his favorite quotes is from Bishop Francis Asbury, the first Methodist Bishop in America; "I preached at Mr. Hammet's house, now fallen into our hands. (They) have built an elegant church, planned for a steeple and organ. They take the rich, and the commonality and the slaves fall to us. This is well."
